The Trentham Easter Art and Craft Show was first held in 2003, and has been an artistic and social highlight for the community and visitors almost every year since. It was last held in 2019 when 355 artworks were celebrated before COVID broke the chain.
This year 165 exhibitors entered almost 400 artworks. 111 of these (around 70%) were 'locals' (within 50km of Trentham). The judging team remarked how extensive and accomplished the artworks of both the children and adults were. This shows how Trentham District has a thriving community of artists and craftspeople.
Prizes are donated by our very generous benefactors, community groups and local businesses who help support our artisans, encourage young people in the arts and bring joy to the community.
Our charter of supporting artists by providing significant prizes and acknowledging many art and craft mediums individually meant sponsorship for 17 categories and $8500 in prize money had to be sourced. The Show then enabled 24% of the artists to sell their work (almost 100 art and craft).
This Show has proved to be a great way to discover local and other artists and purchase an artwork to treasure as your own!

VOLUNTEER WITH US!
We'll need a hand with things such as admin, front desk, sales, pack up, coffee making and the bar and food service for Opening Night.
We'd love to hear from you if you can spare some time to help us out.
THANK YOU!
To the wonderful team of volunteers who helped us throughout the event from setting up the panels, putting out the signs, making food for opening, selling tickets, providing beautiful flowers, decorating, setting up children's activities, selling hot chocolate, running around with 'dots', mounting and dismounting artwork, cleaning, keeping us sane with your humour and putting it a back ready for next year!
Clearly we could not have done this without you!
This is truely a Community Event and everyone who helped in what you might think is the smallest of ways, has made a difference and is highly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you back next year!
Opening Night
Thursday April 17.
$10 or $20 for a family.
Opening night is a time to celebrate the hundreds of exhibits and meet some of the artists. Many people also buy their works then.
Light refreshments are provided, and your ticket includes your first drink.
Thankyou to the lovely Georgie Patterson for donating the beautiful flowers surrounding the artwork and foyer. Do admire these along with the artwork this evening and throughout the Show.
Thanks to the students of Trentham Primary School for adding to the atmosphere by sharing their artwork with us in the foyer.
